When a new season comes around, we know that means a new round of ad campaigns. Typically, there is chatter about who will be the new faces of fashion for the next season, but until official announcements are made or images from the upcoming campaign are leaked, we eagerly wait with anticipation. For three major brands, the results are in whether they like it or not. Without further ado, here are three of the new faces of fashion!
Spanish clothing and accessories retailer Zara is going for the every-girl in their Spring 2014 look book, titled “Zara Pictures.” The international brand scored four global fashionistas for the campaign: former Moda Operandi creative director Taylor Tomasi Hill, former Barney’s New York fashion director Amanda Brooks, The Paris Review’s Hailey Gates, and Elle China’s editor Sherry Shen. The ladies are no stranger to wearing looks fresh off the runway, but in this campaign, they show us they are just regular gals like the rest of us as they rock affordable ensembles from Zara. Each lady is featured in looks that mirror her personal style, and the campaign reflects a laid back, street style blogger vibe. You can view the full “Zara Pictures” look book here.
Last week, Bobbi Brown announced the new face of her cosmetics line will be supermodel Kate Upton. Upton will be the second celebrity spokesperson for the popular cosmetics brand, following Katie Holmes, and the first blonde model featured in a Bobbi Brown campaign. Many know Kate Upton as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, but now Upton is looking forward to a new role as a beauty role model for women. The first aspect of the campaign, currently featured on Bobbi Brown’s site, focuses on “Confident Beauty.” The campaign goes on to read, “Everything starts with confidence: it’s the secret that makes a woman most beautiful. That’s why we chose Kate Upton – the epitome of stunning and confident beauty – to be the face of Bobbi Brown this season.” As if we needed another reason to love Kate Upton, she’ll now have the opportunity to showcase her beauty inside and out!
You may have heard a little rumor floating around back in December about the new face of Chanel. Well, the rumors are true: Kristen Stewart is the star of Chanel’s new Pre-Fall 2014 campaign, Paris-Dallas. Chanel debuted the Paris-Dallas collection in Dallas, Texas last December. In typical Karl Lagerfeld fashion, the show was over the top. However, it was also highly controversial because of the continued concern with cultural appropriation within the fashion industry. Aside from the more ornate looks, the collection also includes a number of very wearable pieces inspired by the American West. Thanks to what I perceive as a leak on Instagram (because the photos have since been removed from the account), we have a first look at some of the images from the campaign, which were shot by Lagerfeld himself. The official campaign is set to debut in May, so be prepared to hit your local newsstand in the next couple months.
We are well into the third month of 2014 – have you touched base with the goals you set for this year? When the New Year comes around, we typically set out with a lot of ambition and expectations. In January, I urged you to set a goal to FEEL GOOD and LOOK GOOD in 2014 by making small changes in your everyday life to produce big results.
When the year starts to pick up, we often lose sight of the goals we set in January. Don’t get discouraged when life gets in the way! You can always check back in with yourself and your goals. What better time to do so than the coming of spring? A new season is right around the corner, and spring is a great time for renewal and reviving your 2014 goals.
Need a little nudge? I’ve got 4 ways to FEEL GOOD and LOOK GOOD in March!

I decided to take most of the weekend off from New York Fashion Week, but as well all know, fashion never sleeps.
Social media is a great way to follow along with fashion week and keep up with the must-see looks and trends. So, for the past couple days I have been following along with NYFW through some of my favorite fashion sources on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Instragam is a wonderful platform to get a full-circle glimpse into the fashion shows from styling backstage to the final walk. Although fashion week is first and foremost about the apparel in the upcoming collections, there is a great deal of time and energy put into each and every show from model selection to catwalk choreography to hair and makeup and countless things in between. Some of my most beloved beauty brands have been lucky enough to work with some famed designers on styling their shows. So, I’ve complied a number of Instagram images to showcase the highlights from the weekend: Day 3 and Day 4 of NYFW F/W 2014 from backstage to the runway!
Tibi’s beauty look consisted of a bold Bordeaux lip by Bobbi Brown, a unique mini Mohawk braid by Aveda, and nude nails with a touch of sparkle. The Fall 2014 collection features chunky layered looks in both soft pastels and bold hues. The menswear-inspired sweaters and outerwear look so lush and inviting for the cool weather months
Herve Leger’s beauty look featured a dramatic eye, a pop of color in a high pony by Bumble and Bumble, and a nude nail by Essie. The Fall 2014 highlights a balance of fitted silhouettes and movement in an array of colors from neons to blush tones to nudes.
Derek Lam’s beauty look showcased a deep smokey eye and a soft pink lip stain by Estee Lauder and a nude nails. The Fall 2014 collection is a mix of sporty yet chic over-sized menswear inspired ensembles and feminine yet structured looks. There is also a variety of color in the collection with both warm earthy tones and pops of pastel.
DIANE VON FURSTENBERG
The Diane Von Furstenberg show was my must-see show of the weekend. The Belgian American fashion designer is celebrating a milestone year commemorating her iconic wrap dress, which is her signature look that jump started her career in the fashion industry forty years ago at the young age of 26! During the pre-show, Diane Von Furstenberg explained the inspiration behind the famed wrap dress: the ballerina wrap sweater. In honor of the wrap dress and its inspiration, the beauty look for her Fall 2014 show, Bohemian Wrapsody, was ballet inspired makeup and hair buns. Before the show, the designer encouraged her models to “be strong, feel sexy, be you, and smile.” The DVF brand truly embodies my goal for 2014 to FEEL GOOD and LOOK GOOD.
The show kicked off with a number of black and white looks in classic DVF patterns. My favorite neutral piece is the black and tan fur jacket featured above. The rest of the Fall 2014 collection consisted of rich jewel tones in a number of iconic DVF prints and wrap styles. The show concluded with a special and memorable finale as each model took the runway in a gold wrap dress. Next the models congregated onstage with St. Vincent, who provided live music for the show as part of the AmexUnstagged partnership. As the models danced to the music, Diane Von Furstenberg hit the catwalk then joined the models and the band for a gold confetti filled finale. I think it’s safe to say that this show ended with the “happiness and joy of life” that DVF intended.
Baby, it’s cold outside! So, I decided to warm up with Spring inspiration. If you’re like me, you spend these brutally cold winter days bundled up in layers of black and gray. Today, I needed to dream of more colorful days, bikini bodies, and brightly polished nails. After a long day of weathering the fierce winds and falling snow, sit back, relax, and enjoy this Spring-inspired style collage! Stay warm, ladies!
A precursor as to why you and I and the rest of the world need to take a moment to enjoy these 6 awesome holiday themed social media posts: Thanksgiving happens to fall at one of the most crucial times of year. The holiday season means crunch time, and just when you’ve got your rhythm and your energy is soaring sky high, Thanksgiving smacks you onto your ass (literally), and you spend a long weekend sitting on the couch in a food-induced coma. The week after Thanksgiving is pure torture. You’re expected to return to work with the same vigor you spent all of November working up to that has since been lost somewhere between festive cocktails and the Macy’s parade. This year is no different – I’m not even sure what day it is, but it sure feels like some mutant workday that falls after Friday – this week feels like it’s never going to end. I still haven’t fully recovered from my Thanksgiving slump and I need a pick me up! I know you do too, so without further ado, here are 6 awesome holiday social media posts to get you through. It’s almost Friday (I think) – you can do it!
