In 2013, I decided to take the first step in reclaiming my identity as a writer, and I launched ARTicles of Clothing Blog. It began as a creative outlet and a place where I could write stories of personal interest independent of my career. I had worked in the fashion industry and fashion had been a longtime fascination of mine, thus it became the initial focus of this blog.
Over the years, this blog evolved, concentrating not only on fashion but also on other aspects of my life from freelancing to fitness, the great city of NYC, and even the art of writing and blogging.
Once I left my job and started building my career as a writer, my attention here dwindled. I put my clients first, and eventually I stopped writing on this blog entirely.
In 2017, I decided to concentrate my time and energy on refining my content marketing business. I bid farewell to ARTicles of Clothing and launched my new brand, Grey Ghost. Then, it was time to refocus on this blog.
Here, the words are the star of the show. Whether you’re reading a fiction story showcasing creative self-expression or a non-fiction story highlighting a particular aspect of entrepreneurship, it’s my goal and the goal of my contributors to demonstrate the power of language.
I’m Cait, the founder of Grey Ghost and Grey Ghost Blog. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a compulsion to write and an inclination to take the road less traveled.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in English and Creative Writing, I went against my intuition and followed a conventional career path. Like many graduates in the arts, I ventured into the job market with the mindset that my degree wouldn’t translate into a career. I relied on my strengths and professional experience to secure jobs in sales. I was content as an account manager, but I wasn’t passionate. So, I decided to make a change.
I left my secure job at a thriving startup, founded Grey Ghost Blog (formerly ARTicles of Clothing Blog), and set out as a freelance writer. After four years of freelancing full-time, it was time to take my business to the next level, and I established Grey Ghost, a New York City-based boutique content marketing agency devoted to artists, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and startups.
I’m passionate about my work as a content marketer. I love connecting with people, becoming immersed in their businesses and their industries, and showing them how to use language to create a voice for their brands and to build lasting connections in the digital space.
But in my heart, I’m a creative writer, a poet, and a storyteller. My ultimate goal is to share my words, my creative potential, my narrative. That’s where Grey Ghost Blog comes in. Here is the home of my stories.
