I’ve been promoting an up and coming project for 2014 for several months now: FEEL GOOD, LOOK GOOD. I can’t wait to launch this endeavor next year, but I want to give you a little taste of what’s in store. The holiday season is known to be a time of love, joy, and reflection. However, the reality is, the holidays can be tough! You may be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and overall just lacking that holiday spirit. When you’re not feeling your best, it shows! And, when you’re not looking your best, it certainly doesn’t make you feel any better. The two are so closely intertwined, it’s a cyclical process.
So with gloomy winter weather depleting your endorphins and the countless festivities sucking every last bit of energy and holiday cheer, it is essential that you take a breath and take a moment to be mindful and take care of yourself! Two of my most beloved fashion brands know that feeling good and looking good go hand in hand: Free People and Lululemon Athletica. Check out what this pair has in store to help you out this holiday season!
Free People is a women’s apparel and accessories brand that encourages women to live free through fashion, art, music, and travel. In my book, their blog, BLDG 52 is one of the top blogs by an apparel brand because it goes beyond the clothing and truly taps into the Free People woman at her core. Some of my favorite posts come from guest blogger Kristen Hedges, a certified Holistic Health Practitioner, a registered Yoga + Meditation Teacher, and a freelance writer. For BLDG 52, she supplies bi-monthly installments of “10 Sweet Little Moments,” ten ways to center and care for yourself. Hedges is skilled at transforming simple, everyday routines – pulling on your socks, going for a walk, making hot chocolate – into acts of mindfulness. Head over to this month’s post – 10 Sweet Little Moments (in Winter) – and give one (or all) of her ten suggestions a try!
Lululemon Athletica is an athletic clothing and lifestyle brand whose mission is to create components for people to live long, healthy and fun lives. This year they crafted a No Humbug Challenge for the holiday season. While this may seem like another daunting task to add to your already endless to-do list, the activities on this list are simple and designed to make you FEEL GOOD. Remember that this challenged is aimed to encourage and motivate you to stay focused and be positive through the holiday season. You have the power to choose the exercises that best suit you and your life. Lululemon’s list is structured with one challenge per day. Below are some of my favorites that could be completed any day between now and the New Year. To check out the full No Humbug Challenge, click here.
